2026 10-Minute Play Script Submission

 

How to submit your script for consideration for the 2026 10-Minute Play Festival will will have performances in August 2026

Submission Method & Time Frames 

  1. Plays will be accepted for consideration on Saturday, March 7, 2026, 8:00 am Central Standard Time thru Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11:59 pm or 100 plays, whichever comes first.
  1. No early submissions will be accepted/considered.
  1. We will only accept PDF submissions submitted to this email: 4thstreetplayfestival@gmail.com. Submissions will not be accepted anywhere else.
  1. There is no entry fee.
  1. Plays submitted will not be returned.
  1. Plays should not have been produced anywhere in Indiana before.
  1. Plays should not have been published.
  1. Each playwright may submit a maximum of one script for review.  Please do not send any revisions.
  2. Plays should not be AI generated.

 

Formatting – Please make your script easy to read! 

  1. All plays should be in 12pt font with 1 in margins. Please make sure you use a standard & easy to read font
  1. Please include a cover page that includes the title of the play, playwright's name, playwright's complete address, phone number, and email. If the play is a collaboration, please include the information for all parties.
  1. Do not list your name, any of your contact information, bio, website, or any other identifying information on the dialogue pages. This information should be on a separate page.

Content and Characters: 

  1. We will not consider musicals. (You may suggest background music)
  1. Plays must have a run time of between 8 and 10 minutes. This is generally 6-10 pages of dialogue.  We will not accept submissions for shows longer or shorter than this.  (Page count does not include title page, character descriptions etc.)
  1. We are wanting plays, not skits. There should be a beginning, middle, and end with an actual plot.
  1. No multiple scenes or scene changes during your play.
  1. No extensive set/costume/light/projection requirements. Shows should be able to be done on a minimal budget.  Please note: our stage is 12 feet deep by 30 feet wide.
  1. No more than four characters.
  1. Please let us know if any of the characters requirements are flexible for age, gender, and race/ethnicity.
  1. Plays should primary be written in English.

 

Other Requirements & Rules 

  1. No feedback will be given on plays not selected.
  1. We will post selected plays on Facebook and our website in May.
  1. We will only email the playwrights of selected plays.
  1. Failure to follow any of the guidelines for submission listed on this website will disqualify a script from consideration.
  1. Please do not ask for special consideration for any of these requirements.
  1. By submitting your play, you are agreeing to it being recorded.  You will receive a copy of the video.  The video cannot be posted on any public site.

 

By submitting a script for consideration, the playwright agrees that the 4th Street Theater may produce the script during our 10-Minute-Play Festival.

 

The playwright also agrees to waive any royalties for the production of the piece in the festival and relinquishes all rights to casting decisions and/or scenic choices.
