4th Street Theater Presents Heartwarming Comedy: "The Curious Savage" by John Patrick
The 4th Street Theater announces its upcoming production of The Curious Savage, a delightful comedy written by John Patrick. This heartwarming and humorous play promises to be a memorable experience for theater enthusiasts of all ages.
The Curious Savage is a classic American comedy that tells the story of Ethel P. Savage, a widow who has recently inherited a substantial fortune from her late husband. However, instead of using the money for personal gain, she decides to establish a charitable foundation to help those less fortunate. This decision, of course, does not sit well with her stepchildren, who are desperate to get their hands on the inheritance, and send her to a sanatorium, where she meets a group of eccentric and endearing individuals, each with their own unique quirks and dreams. Together, they embark on a journey of self-discovery and friendship, while Ethel's stepchildren attempt various schemes to gain control of the fortune.
Director, Denise Barkow of Chesterton, has assembled a talented and dedicated cast to bring this story to life. With its mix of humor, wit, and touching moments, The Curious Savage explores themes of love, family, and the pursuit of happiness in unexpected places. Audiences will be captivated by the witty dialogue and endearing characters as they watch Mrs. Savage navigate the challenges of her new life and discover the importance of following one's dreams.
"We are excited to bring The Curious Savage to our community," said Sandra Assarian, 4th Street Theater’s Executive Producer. “We never tire of showcasing the incredible talent within our local theater community. This charming show is sure to leave audiences with smiles on their faces and warmth in their hearts."
